Nenette A. Chambliss, Founder/CEO, Why Not Sports, Inc.

Nenette A. Chambliss is the Founder and CEO of Why Not Sports, Inc., a 501(c)(3) educational-based nonprofit organization that serves youth ages 13-22. As a graduate of the City University of New York: York College, with a degree in Community Health Education, and as a Certified Health Education Specialist, Nenette is passionate about issues concerning young people.

With this in mind, Mrs. Chambliss was a Teen Expert for the HOT 97.5 (now HOT 107.9) weekly teen talk show called “Check Yourself” hosted by the Ryan Cameron Morning Show. She has been on NBC Nightly News a segment called “Talking It Out” which was of course geared to get young people talking about those issues that affect their generation. In addition, Mrs. Chambliss has been listed in the feature article “The Ones” in the 15th Anniversary Edition of UPSCALE Magazine (August 2004), and featured in Brand Jordan Magazine (Issue 5, Winter 2004) and was most recently appointed to the Board of the Directors for the new Villages at Carver YMCA, in Atlanta, GA.

With her strong nonprofit background, prior to beginning Why Not Sports, Inc., Nenette managed several program initiatives for community based organizations such as Planned Parenthood, Grady Memorial Hospital, the YWCA of Greater Atlanta, and the American Red Cross. In addition, she worked as an Intervention Specialist for the Dekalb County School System in Atlanta, GA.

Nenette is active in her Atlanta community and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and has been married to her husband Mr. Alex V. Chambliss for the past 10 years.

While her organization seeks to provide academic and career solutions to both male and female athletes, equally important to Nenette is that the organization stays true to its mission of grooming a new generation of young people to be prepared and qualified for life success – as a student, as an athlete, as an accomplished professional, and as a strong member of their community.
